Licenses and credits

Here's Heardy's license, and credit to the third-party projects and services it depends on.
Heardy's license (GPL-3.0)
The source code of the application is published under the GNU General Public License v3.0 in the public repository Isaac-Canabal/heardy-releases, where each release is also built automatically by GitHub Actions. The installers and APKs on the releases page correspond to the source published for that version.
The name “Heardy” and the logo and icon artwork are not licensed under the GPL: if you make a fork, use your own name and icon. The optional project server (Explore, friends, stats and account sync) is not part of the published source. Heardy is distributed as a whole under the GPL-3.0 because the Android app includes NewPipeExtractor, which is GPL-3.0; the full list of third-party notices, including the files adapted from NewPipe, is in the repository’s NOTICE.md. Heardy is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NewPipe project.
Third-party libraries and services (application)
- Flutter y Dart — BSD-3-Clause. Framework the Android and Windows application is built with.
- just_audio, audio_service y audio_session — MIT. Audio playback, queue and system controls.
- media_kit / libmpv — MIT (media_kit) · LGPL-2.1+ (libmpv). Playback engine in the Windows version. libmpv is dynamically linked as required by the LGPL.
- FFmpeg — LGPL-3.0. Windows version only: decodes audio to draw the waveform on the seek bar. Included unmodified and dynamically linked; its source code is available at https://ffmpeg.org/download.html.
- NewPipeExtractor y código portado de NewPipe — GPL-3.0-or-later. Android version only: searches, resolves links and obtains the audio on the device (downloads, import and streaming). Being GPL-3.0 and included in the application, it is the reason Heardy is distributed under the GPL-3.0. Includes NewPipeExtractor (https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor), linked unmodified, and files adapted by Heardy from NewPipe (https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe): the poToken generator, the po_token.html page and the HTTP client. Each adapted file carries a modification notice. The corresponding source is in Heardy's public repository.
- OkHttp, RxJava, nanojson y AndroidX — Apache-2.0. Android libraries used by the component above.
- yt-dlp — Unlicense (dominio público). Windows version only: helper bundled in the app (a standalone executable that updates itself from GitHub) that searches, resolves links and downloads the audio on your device.
- cryptography (Dart) — Apache-2.0. Encryption for Wi-Fi sync between your devices (X25519, Ed25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305).
- FastAPI — MIT. Framework for the optional server (Explore, friends, stats and account sync); the server is not part of the published source.
- LRCLIB — Servicio público; letras aportadas por la comunidad. Source of the synced lyrics. Queried by sending the song's title, artist and duration.
- NetEase Cloud Music — Servicio de terceros con sus propias condiciones. Alternative source of synced lyrics, queried only when LRCLIB doesn't have them. Queried by sending the song's title and artist.
- MyMemory — Servicio de terceros con sus propias condiciones. Line-by-line lyrics translation. It receives the text of each line being translated.
- Firebase Authentication — Condiciones de servicio de Google. Identity for the optional account.
- sqflite, provider, shared_preferences, http y demás paquetes de pub.dev — BSD / MIT según paquete. Several packages from the Flutter/Dart community, each under its own permissive license.
Third-party trademarks and names belong to their respective owners. Heardy is not affiliated with, or sponsored by, any of these projects or services.
